D. Suggest the first-aid methods for these emergencies.
    
    1. Animal Bite
Ans: Wash the bitten part with antiseptic soap and water, apply antiseptic cream on the wound and take the victim to the doctor.

    2.  Fracture
Ans: We can provide these first-aid in case of a fracture:
  • The injured person should not use or move the fractured part of the body.
  • When a leg appears to be broken, tie a splint around the fractured leg. Take a magazine or a piece of wood or cardboard and tie it around the affected area. It acts as a splint and prevents movement in that area.
  • When a hand or an arm is broken, make a sling with a cloth or bandage to give support and prevent movement.
  • Take the patient immediately to the hospital for further treatment.

    1. Define first-aid.
Ans: The immediate help given to an injured person is called First-aid.

    2. What is a fracture?
Ans: Any crack or break in a bone is called a fracture.

    3. What should you do for minor burns?
Ans: In case of minor burns, we should keep the burnt area under cold running water or apply ice. After that, apply an antiseptic cream for relief.

    4. Name one disease caused by animal bites.
Ans: Rabies is caused by animal bites.

    5. Why should the victim lie still in case of snake bites?
Ans: The victim should lie still in case of snake bites as any movement causes the poison to spread faster in the blood.

    6. What is dehydration? What should you do for minor burns?
Ans: Dehydration is when we lose more fluid from our body than we take in.
    In case of Dehydration, we should:
i. drink plenty of water
ii. make a solution at home by mixing salt and sugar in water and drink that.
iii. shift the patient to the hospital immediately in case of an emergency.
