What will happen to the JEE Main and NEET exam? HRD Ministry has formed a panel to review the situation

JEE/NEET

To conduct the NEET and JEE Main exam, Union Human Resource Development Ministry has set up a panel to review the situation.

After the cancellation of the remaining examinations of CBSE and ICSE board, the NEET and JEE Main exam is now under focus. Students preparing for these two entrance exams are also waiting to see what the final decision will be. Coronavirus infection is still spreading rapidly in the country, in which case the Union Human Resource Development Ministry has set up a panel to review the situation. The panel includes the DG of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and other experts. The NTA has been asked to review the situation and submit its report by tomorrow (June 3). JEE Main (JEE Main 2020) exam is to be held on 18-23 July and NEET 2020 on 26 July.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' himself informed about the formation of the panel. He wrote in his tweet, "In view of the situation and in view of the appeal of the students and their parents, a committee has been formed. This committee includes DGs of NTA and other experts. The committee has been asked to review the situation and submit its suggestions to the HRD Ministry by tomorrow.

This year more than 15 lakh students have registered for JEE Main and NEET. According to the government guidelines, taking various precautions like social distancing, it was decided to conduct the entrance test at the exam center itself. It was announced to conduct JEE Main exam between 18 and 23 July, while July 26 has been set for the NEET exam. But due to the increasing coronavirus infection in the country, the situation is not clear yet whether the exam will be done on these dates or not.

JEE Main exam is conducted for admission in engineering course. At the same time, students have to give NEET exam for admission in medical. In March, lockdown was implemented in the country due to Coronavirus. All school-colleges and universities are also closed since then. From the board exam to the other school-university exams which survived, most of them have been canceled and the children of other classes have been promoted to the next class apart from the board. The remaining examinations of CBSE and ICSE board were also decided to be held in July, but many parents objected to this and the matter reached the Supreme Court. After this, the final decision was taken to cancel the remaining papers of both boards.

Now many students and their parents are demanding cancellation of NEET Exam 2020 and JEE Main Exam 2020. There is confusion among the children preparing for the exam. Many students have also demanded from HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' that please explain the situation because they are not able to focus on their preparation.

In such a situation, the HRD Ministry has now formed a panel to take stock of the situation. This panel will examine all the situations. Tomorrow i.e. on Thursday, this panel will submit its report to the ministry. It is expected that after this, a final decision will be taken regarding the exam.
